In the middle of the town is the Temple. Many shops in this area were damaged by the tsunami. The shop keepers are working hard at rebuilding their shops. They hope that this part of the community will again be a vibrant, important area. I hope a lot of people will come back to this area.
釜石、石応寺前の一角には、仮設商店街が出来ています。
こちらの広場や手前にある復興ハウスでは、いろいろなイベントが企画され、今後多くの方が集まりやすいよう様々な企画がされています。
虫食い状態の以前の商店街より、こちらのほうが個人的に好きです！あくまで私の意見ですが・・・

Thankfully a merchant group and university students from Kobe is supporting the events at this location. The people of Kobe have lived through a big earthquake before and kindly bring their knowledge of rebuilding to help this area.
震災で被害にあった神戸の商店街の方や学生ボランティアの方（他様々な方々）が、自らの経験をもとに支援をしてくださっています。
Candle night!
この夜は、キャンドルナイトです。
When I visited the other day, they had a bike which can be used to generate electricity.
Our town has a rugby team and several players helped to pedal the bike and generate some electricity!!
300 watts makes about 1 hour electricity for the night.
They helped to make 4 watts per minute!
I tried and did just 1.9 watts per minute! You can tell how strong those rugby players are.Also they saved a lot of people’s life when the Tsunami …
この日は、復興ハウスの夜のイルミネーション用の電気を自転車5台で発電してました。
地元のラグビーチーム（釜石シーウェイブス）の方々です。
ちなみに夜のイルミネーションの発電に1時間あたり300ワットが必要なのですが、彼らは1分で約4ワット発電していました。
私は1.9ワット。やはり彼らは足の筋力が強いです。
津波が起きたとき、彼らの中には命を顧みず多くの方の命を救ってくれた方々もいらしたそうです。
